By pinpointing major leakage points, your auditor can suggest ways to keep more of the conditioned air in, and outside air out. Stopping leakage points may be one of your single biggest energy savers in the critical heating and cooling months.
Insulation - An auditor will analyze your current type and thickness of insulation, compared to the most effective types, to determine if an insulation addition would be beneficial.
HVAC Equipment - An energy auditor trained in HVAC engineering and design will analyze your HVAC equipment and compare it to the most efficient equipment available to estimate yearly cost savings and payback of an upgraded system.
Duct Leakage - A Duct Blaster tool will be used to determine if your heating and cooling ductwork contains any leaks to the outside which may be drastically decreasing the efficiency of your system. Your energy auditor may also analyze duct insulation.
Room-by-Room Pressure Testing - Pressurization testing can illuminate the presence of soil, radon, carbon monoxide and other harmful gases that may be leaking into your home or building. Tools and techniques will be used to help detect these conditions and identify possible solutions.
