"We passed our city inspection on 12/26, Xcel Energy came out the next day and installed our 'net meter', AND, in spite of the 35 some-odd inches of snow we've received over the last 2 weeks, we've already made 32Kw in energy in December! Not bad considering the snow, the clouds, etc. It's fun to watch the remote digital meter for our system. We get to see how much energy we're producing at any given time, a graph of how much energy we've produced over the last month, plus more. We're also preventing 3 tons of CO2 a year from entering the atmosphere! Very cool. That plus the Federal incentive and utility rebate in place for using alternative forms of energy, this was truly a no-brainer for us. We literally received half of our installation cost back from Xcel Energy, plus we get a $2000.00 tax credit off 2006 taxes because of it as well! (Yes, this is a plug. Go green!)." -Kathryn Restad
